28th Foundation Day and Annual Day Celebrated at DAV, Jharsuguda
Blood Donation Camp Organized along with Havan-Yajna for Promotion of Vedic Culture and World Peace
Jharsuguda, 24/03/2026 : The 28th Foundation Day of DAV Public School, Jharsuguda was celebrated with great grandeur. The programme organized under the guidance of Dr. Mahesh Chopra, Secretary of DAV College Managing Committee and Chairman of the School Managing Committee, Dr. Keshab Chandra Satpathy, Regional Director of DAV Institutions, Odisha, and Dr. Sujata Sahu, Regional Officer of DAV Institutions (Zone-C) and Manager of the School Managing Committee, the Principal of the school, Laxmi kanta Debta, presided over the function and introduced the dignitaries.
Padma Shri Prof. Aditya Prasad Dash, former Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Tamil Nadu and former advisor-cum-scientist to the World Health Organization, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp and inspired the students by citing examples from the lives of great personalities. He emphasized determination, goal settings, values, positive thinking, and the importance of experiencing failure before attaining success.

On this occasion, a Blood Fonation Camp was organized in the school premises with the joint cooperation of the DAV family and well-wishers, in which 111 units of blood were collected. The blood collection was carried out by a team from the Jharsuguda Blood Bank under the supervision of Blood Bank Officer Dr. Silwanti Jojo, along with the doctor of District Headquarters Hospital Dr. Madhuri Patel and Dr. Deoshlok Sharma.
For the promotion of world peace and universal brotherhood, a Panchakundi Havan-Yajna, Vedic discussions, and spiritual discourses were organized in the school premises under the leadership of Principal Laxmi kanta Debta and his spouse Seema Debta, with the participation of committee members, well-wishers, and parents.
On this occasion, several dignitaries including committee member Tapas Roy Choudhury, founding member Arjun Lal Agrawal, Bal Govind Mishra, Dr. Deoshlok Sharma, Narendra Panda, Principal of Samaleswari DAV Chinmaya Mahapatra, Principal of IB Valley DAV Sushanta Pradhan, Principal of Burla DAV Rajendra Kumar Vedbak, Principal of Bandhabahal DAV Pradeep Kumar Hota, Principal of Banharpali DAV Anita Bhagyraj, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Harilal Padhan, Principal of Ghanshyam Hemalata School Sanjukta Dash, Principal of Sanskar Public School Kandarpa Sahu, member Suchismita Guru, and well-wishers Subrata Tripathy and Bijay Behera graced the celebration.
During the programme, the school’s annual magazine ‘DAV Seminary’ was released by the Chief Guest. In the presence of a large gathering of parents and well-wishers, students presented a variety of attractive theme-based cultural programmes in an enthusiastic atmosphere. On this occasion, Sai Priyanshi Jena was awarded ‘Best Kid’, Ayush Patel ‘Best Volunteer’, Vedula Ritika Shankar ‘Literary Award’, Anurag Jha ‘Student of the Year’, and Sabita Bhuyan ‘Best Singer’. Dr. Mahesh Chopra, Dr. Keshab Chandra Satpathy, and Dr. Sujata Sahu conveyed their greetings and congratulations through video messages to all the teachers, students, and the stakeholders of the institution. The programme was coordinated by Alekh Bihari Sahu and Dr. Manjushri Vedula, while Neelima Patel proposed the vote of thanks.
