33rd Foundation day of Shanti Memorial Hospital observed
Cuttack : Cuttack based Shanti Memorial Multispecialty hospital observed its 33rd foundation day at Saheed Bhavan, Cuttack on 2nd April 2023. The ceremonious programme was graced by the Dr. Bhabani Shankar Chayani, Collector and District Magistrate as Chief Guest and Dr. Sita Kanta Dash, Chairman, Kalinga Hospitals, Bhubaneswar as Guest of Honour.
Addressing the august audience and invitees, Chairman and Managing Director of the hospital, Dr. Sreejoy Patnaik, briefed – on how the last wish of his mother gave him impetus to become a doctor to serve needy patients and that dream which took shape as a reality. He narrated the hurdled full journey of Shanti Hospital from a fourteen bed tiny hospital to this one hundred bed multi specialty hospital which shines today to caters to all needs of patient under one roof and expressed that, this was possible due to the sincere, dedicated hard-work of Shanti team. Prof. Dr. Rekha Das, Executive Director of the hospital narrated how the hospital has stepped in tandem with advancement of technology and embraced all modern equipments to its fold to provide treatment with techno-advancement.
Dr. Sita Kantha Dash- Chairman, Kalinga Hospitals Limited, Bhubaneswar shared his experience that, how he could become an entrepreneur of eminence by accepting challenges of all adversities and from a very small village of Cuttack could establish several institutions in United States and India as well. Dr. Bhabani Shankar Chayani, Collector and District Magistrate of Cuttack in his heart touching speech, appreciated the initiatives of Shanti Memorial Hospital. He shared his COVID-19 pandemic experiences and narrated how health care workers intervened to save lives betting even their own lives. He mentioned that, health care workers are truly privileged as God. Almighty has given them to serve people and they should have positive attitude as well as true missionary spirit to serve people in distress, without consideration of position, wealth, caste and creed and such dedication should come from within to treat a patient like their own family member.
The function was attended by many eminent consultants, anaesthesiologists, orthopaedicians, gyenacologists, physicians, surgeons, dentists, cardiologists, specialists from many medical streams and health care professionals. Dr. Chitta Ranjan Dash, Medical Director and eminent surgeon proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Subhragshu J. Bagchi, Managing Committee member conducted the programme. Several appreciation and achievement awards were presented to employees during the function. The programme was followed by cultural presentations by hospital employees and anchored by Dr. Pallavi Tripathy. The programme was coordinated by Head-Operations Mr. Paritosh Das.
