108 ambulance crew showed generosity by carrying critically injured elderly on a stretcher
Puri: 108 ambulance crew showed humanity by carrying critical patient on stretcher. Laxmidhar Nayak (74), a resident of Balabhadrapur village of Denuan panchayat under Nimapara block of Puri district, suffered a spinal injury. So, at around 9 a.m. on March 24, Sukanta Kumar Nayak of the same village contacted the 108 ambulance in this regard. As soon as the news was received, a 108 ambulance immediately came to the patient’s village from Charichowk Hospital. But due to inaccessible road to the village the ambulance could not move forward and was stopped mid-way. Therefore, the EMT of the 108 ambulance, Sushanta Kumar Behera, Pilot, Pratap Kumar Parida and assistant Asit Kumar Swain themselves went to the patient’s location with a stretcher. Then they carried the patient on a stretcher for about a kilometre from his home and took him to 108 ambulance and brought the patient to Nimapara hospital. In fact, the humanity of the 108 ambulance crews in this hour of crisis is certainly commendable.
