TPNODL undertakes exclusive initiative to empower women and youth
Balasore 05.12.2024 In a significant step towards empowering women and youth in rural areas, TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has launched its 5th Vocational Training Center at Turumunga in the Patana block of Keonjhar district. This initiative aims to equip the local community with essential skills to promote self-reliance and economic independence.
The inaugural event was organized under the leadership of Mr. Dwijadas Basak, CEO of TPNODL, and was attended by key figures including Mr. Joydip Roy, Chief of Commercial Services and CSR, Mr. Dillip Sahu, Head of CSR, and Mr. Rashmikant Behera, Superintendent Engineer (SE) of Keonjhar and other senior offcials.
During the event, CEO Mr. Basak outlined the range of impactful training programs to be offered, including tailoring and embroidery, computer skills, spoken English, marketing, and security services. These programs aim to empower local youth and women by providing them with the skills necessary to secure sustainable employment.
As part of its ongoing commitment to community development, TPNODL has implemented several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Mr. Basak also highlighted TPNODL’s ongoing projects, such as providing basic education to underprivileged children and operating a mobile healthcare van that offers free healthcare services to rural communities.
The newly launched vocational training centers are expected to significantly contribute to the rural economy with many trainees already securing employment with well-known multinational companies after completing their training.
While TPNODL continues to focus on providing uninterrupted power supply to its customers, the company remains equally committed to fostering community development through impactful CSR activities.
