Tata Steel FAMD’s EIC Honoured with ‘Nature Care Award 2024’

Bhubaneswar,16 Dec, 2024: Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge (EIC) of Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD), has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Nature Care Award 2024’ as corporate leader and social thinker at the National Level Conclave held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi. Organised by the Nature Care Initiative, theme of the conclave was “Future Earth – People’s Participation in Climate Resilience”.
Bhupender Yadav, Union Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India, presented the award to Satija at the conclave that brought together leaders from various sectors like Dr Sambit Patra, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Sujeet Kumar, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, (Elect) and Smt Chami Murmu, Padmashree Awardee. The event aimed to encourage dialogue and actions for a more sustainable and resilient future, with a special emphasis on climate change adaptation and community engagement.
Pankaj Satija, who attended the event as the Guest of Honour and a Panel Speaker, shared insights on the role of industry in addressing climate challenges and driving resilience through collaborative efforts. In his address, Satija highlighted about the importance of involving local communities in climate resilience initiatives.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this award. I thank Nature Care Initiative for organising such engaging conclave which helps in promoting sustainability and climate resilience. We have seen good success with Pani Panchayat in our country. I am sure we will see even better success with Climate Panchayat and energy community by involving all stakeholders including industry,” said Satija upon receiving the award.
The conclave also featured discussions and deliberations from prominent nature activists and environmentalists like Sajjan Sharma, Shakti Prasad Nayak, Srikant Sekhar Sahoo and Shabnam Adeni, who all united in the mission to create lasting solutions for climate resilience through collective action.
