Tata Steel’s FAMD Bags Kalinga Safety Excellence Award in Platinum and Gold categories
Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys Plants (FAP), Iron, Manganese and Chromite Mines have been adjudged with the prestigious Kalinga Safety Excellence Award in Platinum and Gold categories at the National Safety Conclave – 2024 organised by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS) here at a city hotel. The plants and mines received the awards for the performance year – 2023.
Operating under Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD), FAP Athagarh and FAP Jajpur received the awards in Platinum category while FAP Bamnipal and FAP Jajpur got the awards in Gold category. Likewise, Joda West Iron and Manganese mines bagged the award in Platinum category and Saruabil Chromite Mine received the award in Gold category. The awards were conferred to the plants and mines for their outstanding achievements in maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational integrity.
Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo presented the coveted awards in presence of Her Excellency Lebohang Valentine Mochaba, High Commissioner, Kingdom of Lesotho to Thakur Ajay Kumar Vishwambharnath, Head Safety (Mines), Kishore Baran Maity, Head Safety (FAP and Stainless Steel Plants), Sarbeswar Nayak, Head, FAP Athagarh, Jagadish Padhy, Area Manager Safety (Jajpur and Bishnupur), Saptarshi Datta, Area Manager (Mining), Joda West Iron and Manganese Mines, Ankit Sharma, Senior Manager, Safety, Khondbond, Niranjan Kumar, Senior Area Manager (Excavation), Saruabil Chromite Mine of FAMD at the event.
Expressing gratitude for the honour, Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge (FAMD), Tata Steel, said, “We have always believed in sustaining safe work place for everyone in our premises including contract workers.
