Almond Awareness Surges in Tier II Cities, Reinforcing Their Status as a Nutritious Powerhouse
Bhubaneswar: A recent YouGov survey, conducted in partnership with the Almond Board of California, reveals a growing awareness of almonds as a high-protein snack among Indians, particularly in Tier II cities. The survey, released on World Protein Day, found that 2 in 3 Indians (65%) recognize almonds as a protein-rich snack, with stronger acknowledgment in cities like Lucknow (38%), Thiruvananthapuram (37%), Coimbatore (34%), Guwahati (34%), and Indore (31%).
Ranked among India’s top five protein choices, almonds are packed with 15 essential nutrients, making them a go-to snack for those seeking sustained energy, muscle health, and overall wellness. Experts emphasize almonds’ versatility—whether added to smoothies, salads, or energy bars—as a simple yet effective way to boost daily protein intake.
With more than 8 in 10 Indians consuming almonds daily, the survey highlights a nationwide shift toward mindful snacking. While Millennials and Gen-X prioritize almonds for their protein content, Gen-Zs recognize their skin health benefits. Fitness experts also endorse almonds for their role in muscle recovery and improved exercise performance.
Nutritionists urge consumers to embrace almonds as a natural, wholesome snack—whether soaked, raw, peeled, or unpeeled—reaping their powerful health benefits in every bite.
