Bhubaneswar, August 7, 2025: D. Smiritha, an 8-year-old prodigy from Ganjam district, has made her mark by securing a silver medal in the Sub Junior Category at the ASMITA Taekwondo League 2025-26. The state-level event, held on August 2-3 at Biju Pattnaik Multipurpose Indoor Stadium in Bagurai, Bhadrak, was organized under the Khelo India-ASMITA initiative, showcasing Odisha’s young martial arts talent.
Representing Ganjam, Smiritha displayed remarkable skill, determination, and spirit, captivating spectators with her performance. Her achievement adds to her growing reputation, having previously represented Odisha at the National Taekwondo Championship in Nashik in April 2025.
