Kalinganagar, December 30, 2025: Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) awarded the ‘Tata Parivar Scholarship for 2025-26’ to 16 students from displaced families of the TSK project on Tuesday at its plant premises, at Duburi in Jajpur, Odisha. Uttam Singh, Vice President – Operations, Tata Steel Kalinganagar, and Ravindra Kumar Jamuda, President, Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers’ Union , awarded the fellowship to the meritorious students.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Singh said, “At Tata Steel, the progress of communities is integral to our growth. The Tata Parivar Scholarship is our way of ensuring that families affected by development have access to education and opportunities. By investing in youth, we are investing in the future of our communities. I wish all recipients great success in life and hope they bring laurels to their families and to Odisha.”
Out of the 16 students, 3 are new recipients of the scholarship. Among the students, 3 are pursuing engineering, 1 MBA, while 12 are enrolled in diploma courses across various engineering colleges. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, admission fees, and hostel charges for the entire duration of the course.
Pankaj Harishchandra Bhure, Chief, Electrical Maintenance, TSK; Sankar Biswas, Chief, Mechanical Maintenance, TSK; Debdoot Mohanty, Chief, Corporate Services, TSK, along with other Tata Steel officials, union members, and community leaders, were also present on the occasion.
Introduced in 2007, the Tata Parivar Scholarship goes beyond the government’s Rehabilitation and Resettlement Guidelines applicable to Kalinganagar. These scholarships provide financial support to students from displaced families who have secured admission to recognised institutions for professional courses such as B.Tech, MBBS, MBA, and Diploma in engineering. To date, the scholarship has been awarded to 223 students from rehabilitated families.
