Bhubaneswar, 15/01/2026 : The Excise Department registered 486 cases including 24 cases booked under the NDPS Act and seized contraband valued at ₹2.92 crore during the twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth days of its ongoing Special Enforcement Drive, which commenced on December 20th
According to official data, 218 persons were arrested during the two-day operations. A total of 26 vehicles were seized in connection with the enforcement action.
The seizures included 17,762 bulk litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 1,032 bulk litres of duty-paid liquor. Other recoveries comprised 1,81,306 bulk litres of fermented wash, 26,700 kg of gur wash and 1,000 kg of mahua flowers. Narcotics seized during the period included 392 kg of ganja, 639 grams of brown sugar and 16.1 bulk litres of cough syrup.
