World Odisha Society celebrates its 5th foundation day

New Delhi : World Odisha Society (WOS) an organization representing Odias worldwide has emerged as the prime platform to nourish the hope and aspirations of the community, opined distinguished dignitaries.

Gracing the fifth Foundation Day celebration of WOS the invited guests observed that WOS has been working tirelessly for the wellbeing of Odia Diaspora across the Globe since its inception four years back.To mark the grand occasion WOS hosted Utkala Utsaba at Civil Services Officers’ Institute here with much pomp and splendour.

While the Mahakumbha of Odias witnessed the congregation of hundreds of well known Odias of National Capital of Delhi and National Capital Region at CSOI members and office bearers of World Odisha Society across the Globe, prominent NROs and representatives of Odia Samaj spreading all over the World have joined online .

Delivering his welcome address Chairman of World Odisha Society Kishore Dwibedi exuded confidence that WOS is determined to achieve its sole goal of building Golden Odisha by the year 2036.

Dwibedi emphasized that the mission and vision of WOS is to channelize the material and metaphysical resources of one and half crore Odias staying away from Odisha for the advancement of Mother State Odisha.
Delivering his speech Secretary General of WOS Manchester based Siba Ranjan Biswal outlined the successful marching of WOS from a humble beginning of twenty countries membership to a robust presence of around 74 countries of the world now.

Addressing the gathering former Governor of Odisha Ganeshi Lal, Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, Khordha MLA Prasanta kumar Jagadev, National President of Rashtriya Patrakar Mahasangha Dr Pabitra Mohan Samantaray, Senior administrator Sanjeeb Kumar Pattajoshi complemented WOS for uniting Odias all over the World and wished its further progress.
Wos’s Souvenir “SWARNIMA” was released by the guests during the occasion. USA based renowned cardiologist,Founder of Orissa Cultural Centre at Houston and Chairman of Utkal Hospital, Dr Aditya Kumar Samal was awarded the First Biswa Odia Samman for his remarkable role in protecting the interest of Odias.

Former Governor of Odisha Prof Ganeshi Lal was conferred the First Utkal Mitra Samman for his deep bondage with Odisha.

Secretary of Hauz Khas Jagannath Temple and noted social leader Ravinder nath Pradhan and Prime Mentor of WOS Pritish Ranjan Dash were awarded 2nd Prabasi Odia Sammans.
Leading promoter of Brand Odisha in USA late Prof Dr Digambar Mishra was awarded Prabasi Odia Samman posthumously.

His wife Jyotsana Mishra received the award.
WOS’s India Chapter President Dr Bipin Bihari Mishra presented vote of thanks. Several eminent personalities from different sectors of the society were awarded Ratnashri Puraskar for their remarkable achievements.
