Tata Power-Led Odisha Discoms Launch Second Edition of ‘ନୂଆଆରମ୍ଭ’ for Women Professionals Returning to Work

Bhubaneswar, 22 January 2026: Building on the encouraging success of last year’s women career comeback programme, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms, today announced the launch of ନୂଆ ଆରମ୍ଭ’ (Nua Aarambha – A New Beginning), a dedicated initiative designed to help women professionals on a career break restart their professional journey.

The initiative reaffirms Tata Power’s long-standing commitment to diversity, inclusion and gender equity, while creating meaningful, future-ready career opportunities for women across the power distribution ecosystem in Odisha.

‘ନୂଆ ଆରମ୍ଭ’ invites applications from eligible women candidates for roles across all four Tata Power-led Odisha DISCOMs—TPCODL, TPNODL, TPSODL and TPWODL—which together manage electricity distribution across the state under a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha. The programme aims to enable women to return to the workforce with confidence and renewed purpose.

In its previous edition, the initiative received an overwhelming response, with 8 women professionals successfully onboarded across functions in the Odisha DISCOMs. Encouraged by this outcome, the 2026 cohort will be selected through a structured and transparent screening process aligned with the recruitment policy, based on eligibility, relevant experience, and suitability for the identified roles. Selected candidates will be offered opportunities across diverse functions, including Operations & Maintenance, Commercial and Customer Services, Information Technology, etc.

Sharing her experience from the first edition, Subhadini Oram, who was selected last year and is currently working with the CCG and Engineering department at TPCODL, said, “‘ନୂଆ ଆରମ୍ଭ’ gave me an opportunity not just to return, but to grow. From the very beginning, the process was structured and encouraging. Working in the CCG and Engineering department has helped me sharpen my skills and re-build my professional identity with renewed energy.”

Through ‘ନୂଆ ଆରମ୍ଭ’, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms continue to create pathways for women to reclaim their careers, contribute meaningfully to the power sector, and participate actively in Odisha’s growth story.
