Baleshwar, 5th March 2026: TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, observed Linemen’s Day with arduous enthusiasm and reverence. With an objective to acknowledge the unwavering commitment, grit and responsibility of linemen who form the backbone of electricity distribution services, the event was organised across all sections and pertinent office establishments.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Gajanan Kale, Chief – Odisha Distribution Business and CEO, TPNODL at the Corporate Office in the presence of Mr. Nilesh Potphode, Chief Operations Services; Mr. Jaydeep Roy, Chief Commercial & BE; Mr. Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Chief Projects and Civil; Mr. Ramendra Banik, Head HR, IR & ESA; Mr. Vipin Chauhan, Chief Contracts and Material Management; Mr. Tapan Patra, Head Safety; Mr. Jitendra Kumar Sahoo, HoG Safety; and Superintending Engineers, among other senior officials. Employees from across DISCOM also participated virtually in the session.
Addressing the event, Mr Kale emphasised that linemen are the frontline warriors who ensure uninterrupted and quality power supplies for consumers, irrespective of the terrain and circumstances. “Linemen are crucial to delivering reliable electricity services, and their role at the grassroots level is paramount. At TPNODL, we are committed to empowering our linemen with the latest technology and training to enhance their safety and efficiency. I urge all linemen to prioritise safety at the site and serve consumers with the utmost importance and humility,” he said.
This year marks the 55th National Safety Week, celebrated under the theme “Engage, Educate & Empower People to Enhance Safety.” As part of the month-long observance, TPNODL has planned various employee engagement and awareness activities to reach out to employees and business associates, emphasising the importance of following all safety protocols without compromise. Since its inception, TPNODL’s efforts towards safety and innovation have led to a significant reduction in accidents and improvement in overall operational efficiency.
