Bhubaneswar: As part of its CSR initiative, Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (OPGC) organized an eye check-up camp today at the Gram Panchayat office of Dalgaon under the Lakhanpur block of Jharsuguda district. The camp was conducted in collaboration with Care Netram, Bhubanesswar. The camp was inaugurated by Santosh Rohidas (Sarpanch Dalgaon Panchayat) in the presence of Himansu Bhusan Behera (Senior Manager, CSR); and members of the OPGC CSR and Care Netram teams.

The medical team from Care Netram, Bhubaneswar, conducted eye screenings, focusing on cataracts, vision problems, and other eye-related conditions. The camp, which ran from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM, saw participation of 288 patients (157- female & 131-male) across 18 villages in Dalgaon Panchayat, including Dalgaon, Basupali, Dudulsinga, Falsadhipa, Gudiali, Jamuna, Karpabahal, Khapsimunda, Negipali, Bandhbahal and others. Among the attendees, 35 individuals were diagnosed with cataracts who shall receive free cataract surgery at Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya, Jharsuguda. In addition, 251 patients were provided with free prescribed glasses. The camp was coordinated by OPGC CSR team members Himansu Bhusan Behera, Tapas Panda, and Amar Singh.
