Global Mining Summit and International Mining Machinery Exhibition at Kolkata from Nov 16-19, 2022

Bhubaneswar:  Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to organise its biennial flagship initiative Global Mining Summit (GMS) concurrently with the International Mining and Mechinery Exhibition (IMME) at Eco Park, Rajarhat, Kolkata from 16-19, November 2022.

To promote this event, a road show is organised at Hotel Pal Height, Bhubaneswar today. Several industry leaders and representatives of mineral and mining sector of the state have participated in the event.

On this occasion, Mr Sashi Sekhar Mohanty, Vice-chairman, CII Odisha State Council said that, “IMME and GMS is one of largest event in mining sector. More than 500 exhibitors from across the globe are expected to participate and exhibit their products and solutions. As a mineral rich state, we decided to organise this road show in Bhubaneswar to promote the event through which mining players will he benefited.

On this occasion, Mr Sunil Pandey, Chief-External affairs, JSW Steel Limited, Mr Ravi Todi, Chairman, CII ER MSME Sub Committee, Mr  Bijay Kumar Das, Director, Production, NALCO, Mr Salil Kumar Behera, Joint Director of Mines, Directorate of Mines and Geology, Govt. Odisha and Mr Pankaj Satija, MD, Tata Steel Mining through light on different aspect of mining and mineral sector.

The theme of this year’s Global Mining Summit 2022 is ‘Role of mineral in shaping a sustainable future.” The summit aims to highlight the growth and emerging trends in the Indian mining sector. It will focuses on the high priority aspects of the mining business including exploration, ease of doing business, new technology, policy frameworks for sustainable mining, emerging opportunities in critical mineral and rare earth space and urban mining. Major players from the mining, coal, iron ore and other mineral sectors globally, and within India, will use this forum for the exchange of views & ideas and to explore business partnerships.  

The mining industry is core to India’s growth ambition of USD 5 Trillion. With the government recently coming out with some critical reforms in the Mining and Coal sector under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat package, Mining is seen as one sector which has the potential for triggering the growth, revenue and employment.
