Udit Narayan and Alka Yagini roll back the years with their classic performances on Day 8 of the .FEST
Into its second week .FEST continued to attract
a record number of audiences with its unique mix of food, live music and cultural
exhibitions. Day 8 of the festival saw over nineteen thousand visitors attend the ‘Suhana
Safar’ musical concert at IDCO Exhibition Ground, where live performances by
legendary singers Udit Narayan, Alka Yagini and lit up the night sky. Local heartthrob
Satyajeet Jena also stole people heart with his soothing voice.People of Bhubaneshwar
enjoyed the night full of legendary tracks like ‘Papa Kehte Hein’ and ‘Tip Tip Barsa
Paani’ performed by Alka Yagini and Unit Narayan.
Bhubaneswar MLA North Shri. Susanta Rout, BMC Mayor, Smt. Sulochana Das along
with Shri Ashok Chandra Panda, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Social Security &
Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Public Enterprises, Science and Technology
felicitated the singers on the stage.
The International Food Festival was enjoyed by the foodies and alike, Belgium fries and
cone ice creams were an attraction for the visitors. The Flea Market, which was
founded with the intention of displaying the handicrafts and textiles of Odisha, proved to
be a wonderful crowd-puller and a shopping experience for visitors with more than 120
stalls showcasing locally made goods. The Flea market made business worth INR 8
Lakh on 21st January, whish highlights that .FEST has provided the regional
entrepreneurs an opportunity like never before.
With almost each and every music genre covered in the last week, Day 9 of .FEST is
set to turn it up a notch with popular fusion tracks being played by singers like Siddharth
Mahadevan, Shivam Mahadevan, Srinidhi Ghatate and Aseema Panda. The theme for
the day will be ‘Fusion Fiesta’.
