ACME Group reaffirms commitment to establish First Green Hydrogen Project in Odisha at Gopalpur
Gopalpur, June 5, 2025: ACME Group, India’s leading business house focused on sustainability-led innovative solutions, today, reiterated its commitment to establish its first green hydrogen project in India at Gopalpur, Odisha. The announcement was made during the Groundbreaking and Inauguration Ceremony for five industrial projects at the Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (Tata SEZ) in Gopalpur Industrial Estate. The ceremony was attended by Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, other government dignitaries, business leaders and ACME Group Officials.
The ACME Group’s Green Hydrogen Project, to be set up within Tata SEZ, marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors and support India’s transition to a greener future. Mr. Anil Kumar Taparia, Chief Operating Officer of ACME Green Hydrogen SBU, stated,“ACME Group is privileged to associate with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone to establish our first Green Hydrogen project in India. The rapid industrialization of Odisha under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and the sustainability-focused ecosystem being developed empowers us to pursue our mission of providing innovation solutions to decarbonize various sectors for a greener future. The implementation of our project is on course to meet the stipulated timelines.”
ACME Group will establish the Green Hydrogen project with an annual capacity of 400,000 tonnes of Green Ammonia within Tata SEZ, Gopalpur. It is expected to generate more than 1,000 new employment opportunities, both direct and indirect, thereby contributing to the region’s economic growth.
Demonstrating its global vision, ACME Group has already partnered with renowned global Japanese Corporation, to supply 400,000 tons of green ammonia annually from the Odisha facility from 2029onwards.This strategic alignment underscores the commitment of ACME Group to advancing sustainability-led innovation, supporting Japan’s Net Zero goals, and contributing to India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.
