AISECT’s skill development program transformed Karishma Das’s Life
Bhubaneswar : In a heartwarming tale of determination and success, AISECT’s skill development program in the job role of Domestic Data Entry Operator course, delivered in collaboration with NSDC and AM/NS India (ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India), has become a beacon of hope for many aspiring individuals. Among them is Karishma Das, whose journey from a small village in Odisha to a promising career in the IT sector exemplifies the transformative power of skill development. At just 23 years old, Karishma faced a daunting reality. Hailing from Kharinasi, a remote village in Kendrapara, Odisha, she grew up in a modest family where her father worked as a farmer and her mother managed the household. Despite completing her Bachelors in Physics, Karishma found herself struggling to secure a job that would not only support her family financially but also match her educational qualifications. The absence of technical skills was a significant barrier in her quest for better opportunities.
Karishma’s commitment was unwavering. Every day, she cycled three kilometers to reach the training center, where she immersed herself in the rigorous program. The course, which ran from December 18, 2023, to April 30, 2024, offered extensive training in data management, IT applications, and communication skills. It was more than just a series of lessons; it was a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. The results were profound. By the end of the program, Karishma had acquired the skills and confidence needed to secure a position as a Process Associate at Wipro in Bhubaneswar, with a monthly salary of Rs. 11,500. This job not only provided financial stability for her family but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in her professional life.
