Anil Agarwal applauds Andhra Pradesh’s ₹28,000 crore incentives for AM/NS project
Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal has lauded the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to extend incentives for industries and has added states like Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh are also well-placed to implement similar measures and compete for investment.
In a recent post on ‘X’, formerly twitter, Mr Agarwal wrote about the incentive extended worth up to ₹28,000 crore to AM/NS for their integrated steel plant coming up at Anakapalli.
He also highlighted the bold and timely steps of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to attract large-scale industrial investment by addressing key issues in the manufacturing sector, such as stamp duty on land, GST, and the cost of power and water.
He noted that such large projects will create significant employment opportunities and boost economic activity in the region.
Agarwal added that other states like Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh are also well-placed to implement similar measures and compete for investment. “Whoever is the most aggressive will attract the maximum investment,” he remarked.
