Automakers Extend Support to Customers Affected by Cyclone Michaung in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh

In the wake of the destructive Cyclone Michaung wreaking havoc in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, leading automotive manufacturers in India, including Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motor, and luxury car maker Audi, have stepped up to provide essential support to their customers. Through a range of initiatives, these companies are not only ensuring the safety of their customers but also actively participating in relief efforts for the affected communities.

Maruti Suzuki India’s Proactive Measures:

Maruti Suzuki India has taken a proactive approach by collaborating with its dealer partners and implementing various measures at its workshops. The company sent out 7 lakh SMS alerts to customers, containing precautionary steps to safeguard their cars before the cyclone hit. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki India mobilized 46 tow trucks, activated 34 roadside assistance vehicles, and augmented spare parts inventory for swift response. Collaborations with insurance firms were also established to expedite claim processing and settlement.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Comprehensive Support:

Mahindra & Mahindra has initiated a comprehensive support system for its customers in the affected areas. This includes complimentary roadside assistance, no-cost inspection, and damage assessment. To further alleviate financial burdens, special discounts are being offered to customers affected by the cyclone.

Audi’s 24×7 Roadside Assistance:

Luxury car maker Audi has announced 24×7 complimentary roadside assistance for customer cars impacted by the floods caused by Cyclone Michaung in Chennai. Recognizing the challenges faced by the city, Audi India’s Head, Balbir Singh Dhillon, emphasized the company’s commitment to assisting customers during these unprecedented times.

Hyundai Motor India Foundation’s Financial Support:

The CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India, the Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), has pledged a financial support of Rs 3 crore to aid communities affected by Cyclone Michaung in Tamil Nadu. Hyundai’s onsite teams are working in tandem with state government authorities to deliver emergency relief, including food, water, shelter, medical assistance, and other essential commodities to the affected communities.

As Cyclone Michaung continues to leave a trail of destruction, the automotive industry in India has demonstrated its commitment to customer well-being and community support. Through a combination of proactive measures, financial relief, and onsite assistance, Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motor, and Audi are contributing significantly to the ongoing relief efforts in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
