Awareness Session at Tata Steel Kalinganagar commemorating World Cancer Day
Kalinganagar: With an objective to commemorate World Cancer Day and to create awareness among transport workers and drivers regarding oral cancer, a one-day awareness session was organised at Transport Park of Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) near Duburi in Jajpur district of Odisha on Monday.
More than 50 participants including transport workers and drivers participated in the awareness session that was inaugurated by Suvransu Sekhar Rout, Chief (RMHS & Logistics), Tata Steel Kalinganagar. The session was organised by Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Department of Tata Steel Kalinganagar.
Dr Swadina Mohanty, Dentist-cum-Tobacco Cessation Counsellor took the session in which she informed the participants regarding various aspects of cancer with special focus on oral cancer which is caused by tobacco.
On the occasion, a panel discussion and an interactive quiz was also organised by Dr Prasanta Dass, Senior Registrar, OHS, TSK.
The session concluded with felicitation of the winners by the dignitaries and a pledge by everyone present to stay informed about cancer and stay away from tobacco.
