Awareness Sessions by Tata Steel on World No Tobacco Day
Kalinganagar, May 31, 2024: On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, Tata Steel Foundation organised two impactful awareness sessions at the NIIT Foundation, Mantira and Youth Resource Club, Baghuapal village in Salijanga Panchayat near Duburi under Jajpur district of Odisha on Friday.
The awareness sessions coordinated by RISHTA Project and NCD Control Programme Team of the Public Health Division of TSF, themed “Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference,” engaged more than 100 adolescents through interactive presentations and discussions on the harmful effects of tobacco use and the tactics employed by the tobacco industry to target vulnerable populations.
Apart from this, the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Team of Tata Steel Kalinganagar organised an awareness session at the Green Transport Park, which was attended by more than 60 participants, including employees, vendor partners, and contract workers. The session aimed to educate the attendees on the importance of a tobacco-free workplace and the need to adopt healthier lifestyle choices.
