Bal Mela Organized at DAV, Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda : A colourful Bal Mela was organized at the campus of DAV Public School, Jharsuguda in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020, involving Bal Vatika children from Nursery to Class II. The event was conducted after the completion of the academic session and observed as a Bag-Free Day. More than 500 Bal Vatika students enthusiastically participated in the fair.
During the programme, the young children showcased their creativity, courage, interest towards school, participation in co-curricular activities, and self-expression skills. The entire school campus witnessed a festive atmosphere as the delightful performances and presentations of the little children attracted everyone’s attention.
The fair featured numerous stalls displaying various food items, toys, handicrafts, and educational materials, all managed by the students themselves. The beautifully decorated stalls became the main attraction of the mela.

Through this activity, students got an opportunity to practice salesmanship, teamwork, and communication skills. The little children invited everyone to participate in large numbers and make the blood donation camp, to be organized on the 23rd on the occasion of the school’s Foundation Day, a grand success.
Parents, guests, teachers, and well-wishers attended the mela and highly appreciated the talent and efforts of the children. The programme was inaugurated by the school’s Principal Laxmi kanta Debta, who expressed that such activities help nurture confidence, leadership qualities, and entrepreneurial spirit among young learners and play a significant role in their holistic development.
The Bal Mela concluded successfully with the collective efforts of teachers Sunanda Praharaj, Sangita Sinha, Rinku Sharma, Sabita Dhal, Smita Sahu, Sarita Mishra, Anjali B Subramanyan, Monika Srivastava, A.S.V. Srivali, Uma Singh Chandel, Milli Ray, Rashmita Lenka, and Rutuparna Satpathy, along with the active participation of the students. The event created a joyful and memorable experience for everyone and received high appreciation from the parents’ community.
