CBFC Clears Salman Khan’s “Tiger 3” with U/A Certificate and Minor Dialog Tweaks
Salman Khan fans, get ready for a grand Diwali celebration, as the highly anticipated action-packed movie “Tiger 3” has received the green light from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Directed by Maneesh Sharma, this film is the latest installment in the spy universe created by Yash Raj Films and promises to deliver explosive entertainment to audiences.
The CBFC’s decision to grant “Tiger 3” a U/A certificate without any visual cuts is a testament to the filmmakers’ dedication to creating an action-packed thriller that adheres to appropriate content standards. The Examining Committee did request some minor tweaks in the dialogues and subtitles, ensuring that the film aligns with the board’s guidelines.
In a recent report by Bollywood Hungama, it was revealed that the CBFC ordered the replacement of the word ‘bewkoof’ with ‘mashroof’ and ‘foolish’ with ‘busy’ in the subtitles. The intention behind these changes is to provide a more suitable viewing experience for a broader audience.
Furthermore, the board corrected the abbreviation for the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to ‘R&AW,’ ensuring that the film accurately represents the organization. The report also stated that “the modification with respect to the National Anthem is retained as per request,” indicating a respectful approach to national symbols.
“Tiger 3,” which received its U/A certification on October 27, boasts a runtime of 2 hours and 33 minutes. Salman Khan returns in the titular role, with Katrina Kaif playing the leading lady and Emraan Hashmi portraying the antagonist. Additionally, fans are in for a special treat, as Shah Rukh Khan will make a cameo appearance in his “Pathaan” character.
The buzz surrounding “Tiger 3” extends beyond Indian borders, with high demand for the film in overseas markets. Exhibitors have pushed for an early release, leading to its international screening scheduled for November 11. The movie will debut in the Middle East and Western markets at 9 pm on that day, while the Asia Pacific and New Zealand markets will follow on November 12, with shows starting as early as 7 am.
“Tiger 3” represents the fifth film in the blockbuster YRF spy universe, following “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012), “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017), “War” (2019), and the upcoming “Pathaan” (2023).
