Echoes of Sacrifice: DAV Observes Martyr’s Day in Reverence
Jharsuguda, 30/01/2026 : Martyr’s Day and the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the great incomparable freedom fighter of India’s independence struggle and the Father of the Nation, were solemnly observed on the DAV Public School, Jharsuguda premises.
Under the leadership of the school Principal, Laxmi kanta Debta, a commemorative meeting was organized, during which floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and heartfelt homage was paid to him. In his welcome address, Chairman Shri Debata expressed that the life ideals of revered Bapu—who showed the world a new path through the powerful weapons of truth and non-violence—his sacrifice, tolerance, generosity, and patriotism remain eternally inspiring and worthy of emulation.

Senior teachers including Neelima Patel, Sabita Dhal, Sunanda Praharaj, Manisha Chand, Namita Pandey, Monika Srivastava, Bijay Dash, along with students, collectively offered floral wreaths at the life-size statue of BapuJi and presented his favorite devotional tune in his honour. During the program, all present resolved to adopt a simple, modest, and Swadeshi-oriented way of life in the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi. All the teachers of the school were present and contributed to making the program a meaningful success.
