Fostering Meaningful Connections at 36,000 Feet: Air India Express and AirAsia India Cabin Crew Distribute Rakhis
Bhubaneswar: In a gesture filled with warmth and significance, Air India Express and AirAsia India celebrated the spirit of unity on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, with cabin crew and airport staff distributing Rakhis on all its flights across India. The custom-designed Rakhis were specially created with a sustainable approach, underscoring the airlines’ steadfast dedication to nurturing meaningful connections and delighting its guests.
Rakhi celebrates the bond and love between siblings and holds a special place in the hearts of people in India and across the Indian diaspora globally. The design of the custom-made rakhis draw inspiration from the intricate mechanics of an aircraft engine, with a circular central motif resembling a propeller. The dial of the Rakhi is made of Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) wood, and the two-toned threads are woven with cotton. This initiative also presented the opportunity and experience for siblings travelling together to celebrate the occasion 36,000 feet in the sky. The airlines also showcased highlights from the special Rakhi activity on their shared social media platform, @airindiax.
AIXL currently operates flights from 20 Indian cities to 14 regional international destinations, while AIXC serves 19 domestic destinations, complementing each other’s networks to provide an extensive network for flyers across India and short-haul international markets.
