Bhubaneswar, April 5, 2025:
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for parts of southern and coastal Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall today. The IMD has warned of possible strong surface winds reaching up to 40 km/h and lightning in several districts.
A total of eight districts have been placed under alert: Puri, Khordha, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput.
Residents of these regions are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated through official weather bulletins. Local administrations have been informed to remain prepared to handle any weather-related contingencies.
The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide timely updates as required.
