Mumbai:<\/strong> Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector banks in India, today announced the launch of the Registered Mobile Number update journey via Aadhaar Face Authentication<\/strong> on its Mobile Banking app. With this introduction, Axis Bank becomes the first among India\u2019s leading banks <\/strong><\/a>to implement UIDAI\u2019s Aadhaar Face Authentication service as a Do\u2011It\u2011Yourself (DIY)<\/strong> digital journey for updating registered mobile numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This newly launched solution allows customers to update their registered mobile numbers digitally, anytime and anywhere<\/strong>, through a secure three\u2011step<\/strong> Aadhaar Face Authentication journey. It offers a convenient self\u2011service option that complements branch support, bringing added ease and security to the mobile\u2011number update process, now available digitally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers can seamlessly update their mobile numbers by following this secure, three\u2011step digital journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Step 1:<\/strong> Enter the new mobile number to be updated<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Step 2:<\/strong> Authenticate using Aadhaar Face Authentication
    1. Download the AadhaarFaceRD app from the Play Store. If already installed, the camera will open automatically<\/li><\/ol>\n

      1. Capture a live photo using the front camera<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Step 3:<\/strong> Validate the OTP sent to the new mobile number<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        The Aadhaar Face Authentication mechanism validates the customer\u2019s identity by capturing a live facial image<\/strong> and matching it with the photograph available in the Aadhaar database, ensuring the most secure method of customer authentication<\/strong>. To further strengthen safety, the Bank has introduced an additional layer of protection, whereby Mobile Banking transaction limits are automatically reset to default for the first 24 hours<\/strong> once the registered mobile number is updated and the customer re-registers on Axis Mobile App ‘open’<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        This launch marks an important step in Axis Bank\u2019s ongoing digital\u2011first, future-ready strategy, reinforcing its commitment to building secure, seamless, and customer\u2011centric self\u2011service journeys that leverage the latest advancements in authentication technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
