KIIT, KISS & KIMS Celebrate Women’s Day with a Strong Commitment to Empowerment
Bhubaneswar, March 8: KIIT, KISS, and KIMS came together to celebrate International Women’s Day, reaffirming their dedication to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, expressed deep appreciation for the invaluable contributions of women, emphasizing that the institution’s growth has been driven by its unwavering commitment to respect and opportunities for women. “What we preach, we practice. KIIT has championed women’s empowerment since its inception,” he stated. He further highlighted that women hold key leadership positions within KIIT, making it a model for inclusivity and equal opportunity.
With more than 50% of staff and students at KIIT and KISS being women, the institution has fostered an environment where they feel secure, valued, and empowered. Women employees shared their experiences, emphasizing how KIIT has provided them with a nurturing space to achieve both personal and professional growth.
As part of the celebrations, the Centre for Women’s Studies at KISS organized a special event under the theme “Empowering Young Women through Sports: Towards Building a Healthy Nation.” The initiative highlighted the role of sports in developing resilience, leadership, and overall well-being among women.
Distinguished guests at the event included Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor of KIIT Deemed to be University; Prof. Debasish Bandopadhyay, Vice-Chancellor of KISS DU; and Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar of KIIT DU, who graced the occasion and reiterated their support for women’s empowerment.
