Krushi Vidya Nidhi Yojana is a boon for Odisha Farmers
• Financial assistance of Rs53 ,57,94,405 has been disbursed in the current academic year.

Bhubaneswar, 28/03/2025 : The Odisha government has always given priority to agriculture and farmers. Not only farmers, but also their sons and daughters have been given priority. CM-KISAN Yojana is a groundbreaking initiative under the Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Department ofOdisha Government. Under this, financial assistance is being provided to empower the farmers of the state. “Krushi Vidya Nidhi” yojana is a component of CM-KISAN in which scholarship assistance is being given to sons/daughters of CM-KISAN beneficiaries for their higher education. Under this scheme, annual tuition fees including hostel fees are being provided to the eligible students for technical and professional courses like medical, engineering, nursing, diploma engineering, agriculture and allied courses, BBA, BCA in government, private and national level educational institutions.
For Govt. institutes, assistance for the actual course fee is granted where as in case of private institutes, maximum annual capping amount has been fixed such as a sum of 60 thousand rupees per year for B Tech Engineering, 66 thousand rupees per year for M Tech Engineering, 65 thousand rupees for MBA course, 37,950 rupees per year scholarship for 4-5 years medical education, 35 thousand rupees per year for 4-year B Pharma, 19,450 rupees for nursing education, 58 thousand rupees per year for two-year medical education, 60 thousand rupees for architect course, etc.. A student is getting the benefit of this till the end of the course.
In the current academic year, a total of 13,923 students have benefited under this scheme, including 592 in medical, 4,592 in engineering, 4,574 in polytechnic, 1,417 in nursing, 510 in MCA, 174 in agriculture and allied sector students. Out of these, 55 are students from the prestigious educational institutions like NIT and IIM have been availed the benefit. For this, a total sum ofRs. 53,57,94,405financial grant has been provided by the Government of Odisha. Payment has been made directly to the Aadhar linked bank account of the student.
