Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar Opens First Aid Center for Devotees Visiting Puri Rathayatra
Bhubaneswar – Like every year, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar has once again extended its healthcare support by setting up a dedicated First Aid Medical Center opposite to Puri Hotel, Beach Road, during the world’s largest chariot festival – the Rathayatra. The center was inaugurated by Mr. Bejoy Changarath, Unit Head – Sales & Marketing, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, who emphasized the hospital’s unwavering dedication to extending healthcare beyond its premises.
The center is operational for the next 10 days (Bahuda Yatra), aiming to offer timely medical support to lakhs of devotees and visitors who gather to witness the grand annual chariot procession. Fully equipped with emergency care services, the facility is staffed by a team of experienced doctors and trained paramedical professionals capable of managing a wide range of health issues that may arise due to heat, fatigue, injuries, or other emergencies during the massive public event.
On this occasion, Dr. Saktimaya Mohapatra, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospital Bhubneswar, stated, “This initiative is a reflection of our deep-rooted belief that healthcare should not be confined within hospital walls. Festivals like Rathayatra bring people together in spirit and purpose, and we are proud to support the community with accessible, quality medical care on the ground during this important event.”
To ensure rapid response in critical cases, a state-of-the-art 5G-equipped ambulance has also been strategically stationed near the center. This ambulance is integrated with high-speed connectivity and advanced telemedicine support, enabling real-time coordination. It is outfitted with critical life-saving equipment, including defibrillators, ventilators, and patient monitoring systems, ensuring seamless pre-hospital care during transit. The ambulance is equipped from all the ways to stabilize and transfer patient swiftly.
Through this initiative, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar continues to demonstrate its commitment to proactive, community-based healthcare delivery. The First Aid Medical Center serves as a vital safety net for the public during the high-footfall Rathayatra and stands as a testament to the hospital’s readiness, compassion, and responsibility in times of collective celebration.
