Odisha Naval Tata Hockey HPC Strengthens Grassroot Hockey with Goalkeeping Workshop

Bhubaneswar, December 20, 2025: The Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (ONTHHPC) successfully conducted a specialized Hockey Goalkeeping Workshop for Grassroot Boys and Girls at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, aimed at strengthening the foundation of goalkeeping skills among young hockey talents.

This 11-day workshop, held from 8th December 2025, focused on developing core goalkeeping techniques, match awareness, reflex training, positioning, and mental strength—essential attributes for modern goalkeepers.

The sessions were led by ONTHHPC’s Goalkeeping Coach, MD Ismail, with valuable support from ONTHHPC cadets Amisha Kullu, Mongal Sahoo, and Vivek Lakra, who shared their on-field experience and practical insights with the young participants.

The closing ceremony of the workshop was graced by Dr. Prof. Sarthak Patnaik. Dr Patnaik is a distinguished surgeon with  Master in Surgery, Orthopaedics, Fellowship in Sports Science Institute of South Africa (Capetown, S.A), Fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), Fellowship in Hip Arthroscopy (Spain), Fellowship In shoulder & Sports Medicine (Pennsylvania Sports Medicine Clinic, USA) and Founder & Managing Director, Sports Science India (SSI), as well as Chief Editor, SSI Fanzine.

He addressed the participants on the importance of sports science, injury prevention and long-term athlete development.
