Odisha Secretariat tastes victory in All India Civil Services Cricket Tournament
Bhubaneswar Dt. 18.03.2025: Odisha Secretariat secured victory in the All India Civil Services Cricket Tournament (Super Knockout) after decades held in Delhi. Facing Karnataka State Cricket 2025, Odisha delivered a spirited performance to claim a 12-run triumph, marking a historic milestone for the team.
Batting first, Odisha posted a competitive total of 156 runs in 20 overs, with vital contributions from Abinash Khandual (26 off 19 balls), Subhasish Jena (25 off 16), Soumya Samal (19 off 12), Swaraj Choudhury (16 off 13), and Anurag Prusty (13 off 9). Despite a challenging bowling attack, Odisha’s batsmen maintained a steady pace, ensuring a defendable total on the scoreboard.
Defending their total with determination, Odisha’s bowlers rose to the occasion. Anurag Prusty (3 wickets for 26 runs) and Lelin K Bal (2 wickets for 25 runs) led the charge, dismantling Karnataka’s batting line-up. Although Karnataka’s Siddu Pujari played a valiant knock of 42 runs, the rest of the batting order struggled to form solid partnerships. With wickets tumbling at regular intervals, Karnataka could only manage 144 runs in 20 overs, falling short by 12 runs.
This win marks a new beginning for Odisha Secretariat in the tournament, inspiring confidence and setting the stage for future successes.
