Bargarh | 25th March 2025: Odisha Vigilance has apprehended Smt. Nura @ Nupur Seth, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO), Gyan GP, Padampur, Bargarh, along with her husband Sri Bed Prakash Biswal (Private Person), for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹5,000 to shortlist an eligible beneficiary under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Scheme.
Despite the complainant’s eligibility, Smt. Seth initially demanded ₹10,000 for processing the selection. However, upon negotiation, the amount was reduced to ₹5,000. Unable to bear the undue harassment, the complainant reported the matter to Odisha Vigilance. Acting on the complaint, a Vigilance team laid a trap today and caught Smt. Seth while she received the bribe through her husband.

- The entire bribe amount of ₹5,000 has been recovered and seized.
- Simultaneous searches are being conducted at two locations linked to Smt. Seth for disproportionate assets.
