Berhampur, July 2025: In a major step to strengthen power infrastructure and meet the rising demand, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has successfully upgraded the Bidyutpuri Primary Substation (PSS) in Berhampur. This move directly benefits around 3,000 consumers across Neelachala Nagar, Khodasingi, and Bidyutpuri areas.

Previously, the substation had two power transformers of 5 MVA each, making a total capacity of 10 MVA. After upgrading one transformer to 8 MVA, the substation now operates with a total capacity of 13 MVA. This enhancement is especially crucial when electricity demand surges.

As part of the upgrade, an additional source feed has also been connected to the substation. This ensures minimal power interruptions and improves reliability for residential neighbourhoods, educational institutions, commercial establishments, and local markets.

Commenting on the upgrade, Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL, said, “This upgradation reflects our commitment to providing a stable and reliable power supply to our consumers. Our team is continuously working to strengthen the power distribution network in Berhampur to meet the city’s growing electricity needs.”

TPSODL remains focused on building robust infrastructure and delivering safe, uninterrupted electricity across Southern Odisha, thereby supporting community growth and regional development.
