Renowned industrialist and former Tata Group Chairman, Ratan Tata, took to social media on Wednesday to raise a red flag against the fraudulent use of his name in a misleading investment scheme. In a post on Instagram, Mr. Tata addressed a specific user, Sona Agrawal, who had circulated a fake video featuring an interview falsely attributing investment recommendations to him.

The deceptive video, accompanied by a caption urging individuals to “exaggerate investment right today risk-free with 100 per cent guarantee,” showcased Mr. Tata purportedly endorsing the investment opportunity and even referring to Sona Agrawal as his manager. The post claimed to offer a unique chance for people to secure their investments, enticing them to take immediate action.

Ratan Tata promptly discredited the false claims by labeling the video as “FAKE” both in the video itself and on a screenshot of the misleading caption. The industrialist sought to alert the public to the deceptive nature of the content and to distance himself from any such unauthorized endorsements.

The misleading video further featured messages allegedly from individuals who had received money in their accounts as a result of the recommended investment. Ratan Tata’s response aimed at dispelling any notion that he was associated with or endorsed such schemes, emphasizing the importance of exercising caution in the face of deceptive financial promotions.
