Tata Steel Foundation dedicates class rooms at Guali
Many students from nearby areas to benefit
Joda: Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) on Friday dedicated four classrooms, two each at Government Primary School, Gandhalpada, and Kendudihi under Guali Gram Panchayat of Keonjhar District, reiterating its commitment towards community development.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kabindra Nayak, Chairman, Joda Block, Bidyadhar Nayak, Sarapanch, Guali Gram Panchayt, Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, GM, (OMQ), Tata Steel, Dipak Behera, Chief, Kalamang and Gandhalpada Project, T. Rama Prasad, Head, Human Resources, Sanjay Sardar, Unit Lead, TSF, Jhuria Munda, Dabara Munda and Bimala Nayak, of Gandhalpada village along with elected representatives, and teachers and villagers.
Praising TSF’s initiative, Kabindra Nayak, Chairman, Joda Block opined this initiative will be very helpful for the students in their studies as earlier, there was dearth of space in the school.
Speaking on the occasion, Guruba Besra, Headmaster, Kendudihi Government Primary School said, ’’New school buildings will benefit students in their studies as well as enhance students’s attendance in the school which was not possible earlier due to shortage of classrooms.’’
It may be noted that as many as 110 and 68 students from classes 1 to 5 are studying in the Government Primary School, Gandhalpada and Kendudihi, respectively.
Besides, Tata Steel Foundation has been actively involved in several people-oriented developmental projects in the region such as instalment of 141 solar lights, seven solar-powered deep borewells, and construction of eight ponds, club houses and concrete roads etc.
Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) also plans to take up such people-oriented projects in the coming days.
