Kalinganagar, August 6, 2025: To reinforce monsoon safety awareness including road safety culture among the community, drivers and employees and workers, Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s (TSK) Security Department, in collaboration with the Kalinganagar Police, has launched a three-day Monsoon Road and Health Safety Awareness Campaign. The campaign was launched at Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s Main Gate No 1 in Duburi on Wednesday.

The campaign was formally launched by Suprasanna Mallick, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kalinganagar and Prakash Kumar Sahoo, Inspector In-Charge, Kalinganagar Police Station in the presence of Prakash Sanjay, Chief Security, Tata Steel Kalinganagar and Tata Steel Meramandalli, and other senior officials of TSK.

The initiative is focused on mitigating risks that arise due to the challenging conditions of the road posed by heavy rains. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of road safety and health safety measures during the monsoon season. During the campaign, drivers were sensitised on the importance of wearing seat belts, while two-wheeler riders and pillion riders were encouraged to wear helmets at all times for their safety. Safety leaflets outlining key precautions were also distributed on the occasion.

As part of the launch event, a nukkad natak was also organised that aimed to educate the audience on the significance of following vehicle safety guidelines during the monsoon season. The play skilfully depicted various scenarios, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmet, safe driving, maintaining proper vehicle fitness, and keeping a safe distance from other vehicles during the monsoon.

Additionally, the campaign draws attention to seasonal health challenges such as snake bites, dengue, malaria, and waterborne diseases. Practical advice on prevention and early detection is being disseminated as part of the community outreach.

This collaborative effort is a vital step towards fostering a culture of road safety and awareness towards vector borne and water borne diseases related with Monsoon.
