Tata Steel Kalinganagar observes Van Mahotsav with Mass Plantation
~ More than 2100 saplings planted
Kalinganagar: Reiterating its commitment towards creating a sustainable tomorrow, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) observed Van Mahotsav with a mass plantation drive within its plant premises at Kalinganagar and Rehabilitation Colony at Gobarghati in Jajpur district of Odisha on Friday.
Organised by Environment Department of Tata Steel Kalinganagar, more than 2100 saplings were planted as part of the celebrations at various locations inside the plant premises and Gobarghati colony.
The plantation drive inside plant premises was graced by Yogesh Kumar, Sub-Inspector, CISF Unit, TSK, Mukul Kumar, Head, Security, TSK, and Raju Agrawal, Head, Environment, TSK. More than 1600 saplings were planted by employees and contract employees at various locations inside the plant premises.
As part of the plantation drive at Gobarghati colony, more than 500 saplings were planted at various locations by members of relocated families of Tata Steel.
It may be noted here that every year, the first week of July is celebrated as Van Mahotsav across the nation to create awareness on the importance of forests and plantation.
