Tata Steel Meramandali Wins National Energy Conservation Award 2025
Meramandali, December 31, 2025: Tata Steel’s Meramandali Plant has been honoured with the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award (NECA) 2025 under the Iron & Steel Category, securing the Second Prize in the Integrated Steel Plant segment.
The award was presented by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, at a ceremony organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Shri Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Chief, Power Systems, Tata Steel Meramandali, received the award on behalf of the company.
A total of 52 steel plants competed in this category. Tata Steel Meramandali stood out for its remarkable achievement of saving approximately 291 million units (kWh) of electrical energy over the last three financial years, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient operations.
