Introduced in 2007, the Tata Steel Parivar Scholarship goes beyond the directives of the government’s Rehabilitation and Resettlement Guidelines applicable in Kalinganagar. It aims to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of hundreds of meritorious students from the families rehabilitated due to Tata Steel Kalinganagar plant and lacking financial resources. The Scholarship supports these students to pursue qualifications necessary for careers in several streams and not just in unskilled or semi-skilled work but also in areas of high-end expertise. Under the scheme, financial assistance is provided to students who have secured admissions in various recognized institutions to pursue professional courses like B-Tech, MBBS, MBA and Diploma in engineering streams.
It may be noted here that since 2007, the Tata Steel Parivar Scholarhip has been awarded to 216 students from the rehabilitated families including the 17 for year 2023-24. Tata Steel encourages more such students to take advantage of this programme and aspire for a better future for their families.
