Tata Steel’s Joda East Iron Mine Wins FIMI Mining Innovation Award

Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel’s Joda East Iron Mine has won coveted Mining Innovation Award at the Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) Awards 2022–23, organised in New Delhi on Monday.

The award was conferred on the mine for its significant efforts towards harnessing technology for the betterment of the industry, improving safety, and reducing ecological footprint.

Rajesh Kumar, Chief Joda, Tata Steel, received the award on behalf of the company along with Ranjeet Das, General Secretary, Joda East Mazdoor Union, A T Nandini, Sr. Manager (Improvement), OMQ and Debadatta Dey, Manager- IRMSC, Tata Steel.

Instituted by the FIMI, the award ceremony was organised on the occasion of the FIMI’s 57th Annual General Meeting.

Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, General Manager (OMQ), Tata Steel said, “This prestigious recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation, safety, sustainability, and excellence in the field of mining”.
