TPCODL Rolls Out Proactive Safety Measures for the Festival Season
Bhubaneswar, August 27, 2025: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and Government of Odisha, has rolled out a series of proactive safety measures to ensure uninterrupted and safe power supply during the upcoming festivals.
Reinforcing its commitment to public safety, TPCODL has issued guidelines advising event organizers and vendors to obtain legal temporary connections for pandals and temporary shops. It has strongly warned against illegal hook-ups, stressing that such practices are unlawful, endanger lives, increase the risk of fire and can severely disrupt power supply.
TPCODL’s dedicated teams will be deployed on the ground to monitor supply, facilitate temporary connections and prevent unauthorized usage.
Key Safety Guidelines Issued by TPCODL:
- Engage only licensed electricians for wiring and testing.
- Ensure Pandals are not below the electrical lines.
- Maintain a safe distance from electrical installations.
- Avoid illegal hook-ups at all costs.
- Secure legal temporary connections for pandals, shops and lighting. Use 30 mA RCCB for added safety.
- Ensure proper earthing of all electrical setups.
- Install fire extinguishers and use energy-efficient LED lights.
- Do not use metallic pipes/rods in flags to prevent accidental contact with live wires.
TPCODL has also strengthened its 24×7 Call Centre (1912/1800-345-7122) to address consumer concerns and emergencies during the festivities.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL, said: “At TPCODL, safety remains our top priority. We urge citizens, organizers and vendors to follow the prescribed safety guidelines and opt for legal temporary connections. Together, we can make this festive season both joyful and safe.”
TPCODL is dedicated to making this festive season a safe and electrifying experience for all and wishes everyone a joyful and secure celebration. TPCODL – For you, with you always.”
