TPWODL Celebrates 55th National Safety Month and Lineman Day
Burla, 5th March 2026: TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) celebrated Lineman Day along with the inaugural day of the 55th National Safety Month, reaffirming its strong commitment to workplace safety and recognising the invaluable contribution of its frontline workforce.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, who hoisted the Safety Flag at the company’s Corporate Office in Burla, symbolising the beginning of month-long safety awareness initiatives across the organisation.
The celebration was organised to acknowledge the dedication, courage and tireless efforts of linemen who play a pivotal role in ensuring uninterrupted power supply to millions of consumers across Western Odisha. Working in challenging weather conditions and hazardous environments, linemen remain the backbone of the power distribution network.
Speaking on the occasion and highlighting this year’s National Safety Month theme, “Engage, Educate & Empower People to Enhance Safety,” Mr. Parveen Verma said, “At TPWODL, safety is not just a protocol but a core value that guides every aspect of our operations. Our linemen and field teams work tirelessly in demanding conditions to ensure reliable power supply. Through continuous training, awareness and empowerment, we remain committed to creating a safe and secure workplace for all our employees.”
The event was attended by senior leadership including Mr. Prasant Kumar Singh, Chief – Operation Services; Mr. Ashish Kumar Patjoshi, Chief – Renewable Energy; Mr. P. P. Tendulkar, Chief – Commercial; Mr. Anil Kumar Ojha, Chief – Technical Services; Mr. Rupesh Goyal, Head – MMG; and Mr. Gopabandhu Satpathy, Head – Safety, along with other officials, employees and linemen of the company. On this occasion, linemen were felicitated across all offices of the company in recognition of their dedicated service.
As part of the Tata Group’s strong safety culture, TPWODL continues to prioritise employee wellbeing by equipping its workforce with the necessary knowledge, training and safety tools to perform their duties responsibly and efficiently.
In addition to the Corporate Office programme, Lineman Day was also celebrated across all Circle and Division Offices of TPWODL. The month-long National Safety Month activities will cover 201 Sections, all Divisions and the Head Office, engaging approx. 15,000 workforces through various awareness programmes, safety drills, training sessions and recognition initiatives.
Through such initiatives, TPWODL reiterates its commitment to fostering a strong safety culture while recognising the dedication of its frontline workforce who power the region every day.
