February 19, 2025, Burla/Bhubaneswar: In a historical decision, TPWODL, the power distribution company in western Odisha, signed a tripartite agreement between GRIDCO and M/s Suryam International for the first time in the history of Odisha for installation and generation of solar energy under PM-KUSUM C program. On 13th February, 2025, at Bhubaneswar, this is another step in the right direction towards renewable energy generation in the state of Odisha.

Under this program, instead of individual solar power generation units, larger solar power plants will be installed near TPWODL’s substations, which will effectively feed the electricity to the agricultural pumps through the feeder lines.

The proposed solar plants will be 21.46 MW capacity under TPWODL’s license area, and they will be connected to Bandhopala PSS, Narla PSS, and Kurumpuri PSS for 9.5 MW, 8.08 MW, and 3.83 MW, respectively. These installations will reduce carbon emissions and generate clean energy in the course of time.

In the presence of very senior officials of GRIDCO, M/s Suryam International, and TPWODL, the tripartite agreement was signed and exchanged among three of them.
