TPWODL Organizes Awareness Camp to Promote Green Energy Under PM-Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana
TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has successfully organized an informative awareness camp aimed at promoting green energy solutions and encouraging the adoption of the PM-Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana at Jaganath colony park, Sambalpur. The camp, held on 13th November 2024, witnessed the active participation of local residents and senior officials from TPWODL.
The awareness camp was a part of TPWODL’s ongoing commitment to enhancing sustainable energy practices and providing the citizens of Western Odisha with accessible green energy solutions. The camp provided valuable insights into the benefits of solar energy, the environmental advantages of shifting to renewable energy sources, and how solar systems can significantly lower electricity costs for households.
However, TPWODL representatives explained the detailed process of enrolling in the scheme, the eligibility criteria, installation, maintenance, and operation of solar power systems, helping attendees understand how solar panels can be integrated into their daily lives with minimal effort. The camp also featured question-answer session between key consumers and experts from TPWODL.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Praveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, stated, “We are committed to supporting India’s renewable energy transition by providing practical, sustainable solutions to our communities. This initiative under the PM-Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a significant step toward making clean energy more accessible and affordable for all. Through such awareness camps, we aim to empower households with the knowledge and tools they need to embrace green energy and reduce their carbon footprint.”
With the overwhelming success of this camp, TPWODL plans to continue conducting similar awareness programs across various districts in Western Odisha, aiming to educate and encourage the adoption of clean, renewable energy solutions.
The PM-Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to empower households by providing solar-powered electricity systems free of cost, thereby reducing dependence on conventional grid-based power while promoting a greener, more sustainable energy future. The scheme, part of the government’s larger vision for energy access in rural India, aligns with the country’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
