Burla, 21.11.2024: An electricity lineman working at Brajarajnagar electrical section office under Brajarajnagar division of TPWODL, a power distribution company in western Odisha, was fatally attacked. A case has been registered at the Brajarajnagar police station under Jharsuguda district.
The victim of this fatal attack is Lineman Mr. Rajesh Ray (28), working under Brajarajnagar electrical section. Yesterday, Dt. 20.11.2024, at around 3 pm, while Mr. Ray was busy with his work at section office, a miscreant named Tika Kant (S/O Kartik Kant, Chunabhat, Brajrajnagar) forcibly entered to the office and asked to Mr. Ray about the electricity disconnection from his house. In his reply, Mr. Rai said he had no information about disconnection.
Out of anger, the accused attacked Mr. Rai with a sharp knife. Due to the presence of mind, Mr. Rai narrowly escaped from the deadly attack. After that, accused Tika Kant again abused Mr. Rai and manhandled him.
Mr. Rai reported this incident at Brajarajnagar police station under Jharsuguda district and filed a complaint against the culprit on 20.11.2024. Based on Mr. Rai’s complaint, A case under BNS 2023 section 126 (2) 115 (2) 109 and 351 (2) has been registered at the Brajarajnagar police station and it is learned that the accused has been arrested by police. Hereby, TPWODL requests all consumers and public at large to refrain from all such kind of acts of attacking the workers and officials engaged for public services.
