Amitabh Bachchan Gifts Rs 50.63 crore Iconic Juhu Bungalow ‘Prateeksha’ to Daughter Shweta Nanda
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has officially gifted his iconic Juhu bungalow, ‘Prateeksha,’ to his beloved daughter, Shweta Nanda. The transfer of ownership was formalized through two distinct gift deeds, each corresponding to a specific plot on which the bungalow stands. This significant move reflects not only a generational handover of a physical asset but also symbolizes the deep emotional connection shared between the legendary actor and his daughter.
Prateeksha, located in one of Mumbai’s most posh areas, holds immense sentimental value for the Bachchan clan. It is not just a property; it is a witness to countless memories and milestones in the veteran actor’s life. Being Amitabh Bachchan’s first property in Mumbai, Prateeksha saw the actor spending his early years in Bollywood with his parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. As Big B carved his path to stardom, the bungalow became a symbol of the actor’s journey and success.
The official transfer of Prateeksha’s ownership took place on November 8, as indicated by the gift deeds executed by Amitabh Bachchan. A stamp duty of Rs 50.65 lakh was paid for the transaction, underscoring the legal formalities associated with this generous gift. The market value of Prateeksha is listed at over Rs 50.63 crore, highlighting its significance as a prime piece of real estate in the bustling city of Mumbai.
Apart from Prateeksha, the Bachchan family is known to own several other properties in Mumbai, including Jalsa and Janak in Juhu. This extensive real estate portfolio attests to the family’s long-standing presence and influence in the entertainment industry.
