Bhubaneswar: In an extraordinary display of compassion and heroism, 108 ambulance crews transformed into angels to deliver a lifesaving miracle. Sita Mallik (47), grappling with cancer, found herself in a critical condition at Khordha District Capital Hospital. The attending doctor urgently recommended an A-positive blood transfusion, creating distress among the patient’s relatives due to the unavailability of the required blood type at the hospital’s blood bank.
Amidst the uncertainty, a beacon of hope emerged in the form of 108 ambulance pilot Kanhucharan Nayak. Learning about the patient’s plight, Naik, whose blood group matched the needed A-positive type, sprang into action. Without hesitation, he swiftly administered a unit of A-positive blood to Mallik, averting a potential crisis and breathing new life into the cancer-stricken patient.
