Birla Global University Celebrates Utkal Diwas and 10th Foundation Day
Bhubaneswar: Birla Global University (BGU) celebrated its 10th Foundation Day with fervor, marking a decade of academic excellence and steady growth. The celebration, held at the university campus, coincided with Utkal Diwas . The event brought together students, faculty, staff and distinguished dignitaries.
The celebration was graced by Dr. P. K. Mishra, IAS (Retd.), Former Secretary, Government of India as Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Shri Anil Kumar Sinha, Advisor & HR Head, Jay Shree Tea & Industries Ltd. and Shri Arjun Mohan, Founder CEO, EdStart and Advisor, Manipal Education & Medical Group India.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. P. K. Mishra emphasised the need for nurturing young minds by saying, “If we guide the new generation, we will grow as a nation in the right direction.” Shri Arjun Mohan spoke about the change in the education sector through the power of artificial intelligence. He underscored the need for employability skills among the students. Shri Anil Kumar Sinha appreciated the university for having gained prominence in eastern India in a short period of time and was confident about reaching the world stage.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice-Chancellor, BGU, reflected on the university’s achievements and said BGU is poised to scale new heights with a strong focus on technology-driven education and innovation.
Earlier, Dr. B. K. Das, Registrar, BGU, delivered the welcome address, offering thoughtful insights into the evolving educational landscape and recounting BGU’s journey over the past ten years.
A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of faculty and staff who have completed ten years of dedicated service, recognising their contribution to the institution’s growth. The celebration ended with the State Anthem of Odisha.
As it begins the next decade of its existence, BGU rededicates itself to quality education, innovation and preparing students to face the dynamic world of tomorrow.
